Link To Complimentary Businesses
By Lori Osterberg
Putting a site together and leaving it sit without marketing it is like creating a brochure and leaving it in a box in your garage – it’s going to accomplish nothing. Instead, you have to promote your business website address in many different ways.
Try linking yourself to other businesses. By placing a link between you and another business, you are creating another way of people finding your business. You are sharing the resources of the other business to grow both of your businesses together.
How many links does it take to make a difference? Consider what would happen if you link to a business that gets 1000 hits per day. Even if only a fraction of those people come to your site, you could potentially add several new clients a week. Now imagine having several links providing you with this exposure. The possibility for adding new clients grows enormous in a very short time.
Begin small. Concentrate on getting one link a week. Choose several complimentary businesses, and contact them by email, phone and/or snail mail about a possible link exchange. One link a week will add up to 52 over a year. And the more links you get, the more popular your website will be, the easier it will be to get the links.
